Katja Garrood is Chief Brand Officer of Brandwatch, a Brighton-based software company. When Lighthouse approached Brandwatch in 2018 to explore whether there might be opportunities to collaborate, Katja was quick to sign up and became one of the Founding Sponsors of the scheme.

“It's really important to nurture relationships, particularly ones in the city that aren’t necessarily the most conventional relationships, or the ones that you’d expect to happen,” she says. “This kind of experimentation and openness is fundamentally what leads to innovation. So we sponsored Lighthouse Young Creatives because we absolutely loved the concept.

“The idea that we could help promote creativity in young people, particularly people who maybe haven’t had the opportunity that other people have had, and liberate that creativity, harness it, that’s a no-brainer.”
