The Girl with the Needle (Danish lang) is a 2024 historical psychological horror film directed by Magnus von Horn, from a screenplay written by von Horn and Line Langebek. Set in 1919 Copenhagen, a young pregnant woman: Karoline takes on a position as a wet nurse for an older woman named Dagmar to help support herself. Dagmar operates a clandestine adoption agency under the guise of a candy shop, assisting disadvantaged mothers place their unwanted newborns in foster homes. Karoline grows close to Dagmar, but she is soon faced with the nightmarish reality she unwittingly entered. “Karoline is a pitiable victim certainly, but she is also a sly and opportunistic emotional scavenger with a capacity for cruelty. It’s a remarkable film: bleak, but horribly compelling.” Wendy Ide, The Guardian, 2025.

The Girl with the Needle is now showing in cinemas across the UK. Watch the official trailer above.

Love Lies Bleeding is an electric love story directed and co-written by Rose Glass. Reclusive gym manager Lou, played by Kristen Stewart, falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream. But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou's criminal family. Set in 1989, this crime thriller is grimy, stylish and unsettling with stunning visuals and captivating performances from the leads. “Love Lies Bleeding channels Elmore Leonard in its garish tale of forbidden love, chaotic crime and gnarly incidental characters with bad hair and bad attitudes” Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian, 2024.
