On Monday 24 March 2025, our fabulous group of Fuelers made up of the Lighthouse team, trustees, and young creatives will walk together to Fuel the Future, raising awareness and funds for our work through a 20-kilometre walk across the Cuckmere Pilgrim Path in the South Downs.
Why?
Young creatives face barriers like low income, unstable housing, poor mental health, and discrimination tied to gender, ethnicity, or disability. Brighton’s arts scene is in crisis, with 87% of public spaces closed or scaled back post-pandemic. Opportunities for young creatives are vanishing as only commercial galleries and NPOs survive. Lighthouse Project Space, Brighton’s only youth-led arts venue, is vital to amplify voices and sustain creative inclusion.

About our work
Lighthouse’s youth development programmes nurture innovation, collaboration, and leadership by empowering diverse creative talents. From young creatives exploring the arts to future leaders advancing equitable opportunities, our work aims to build a resilient and vibrant cultural ecosystem.
Lighthouse supports young people in Sussex through three programmes

By developing skills, confidence, and networks, we support young creatives in reclaiming and re-imagining cultural spaces. By addressing gaps in accessible spaces and resources, we empower young people to overcome barriers, sustain their creative practices, and lead a more equitable cultural future.
Donate for Double the Impact
Lighthouse continues to be a catalyst for igniting creative careers. Donate to our Fuel the Future campaign. We need YOUR help to reach our campaign target of £10K. For one week only, between 18 - 25 March every donation we receive to #FuelTheFuture will be doubled by the Big Give in their Arts for Impact programme, directly support a young creative’s future.
You're helping us to break cycles of limitation and enable dreams to flourish. Your support will empower young people from underrepresented backgrounds, giving them the skills, confidence & opportunities to thrive.
