Lighthouse x The Real Junk Food Project
We’re excited to partner with Brighton-based initiative The Real Junk Food Project, which will be catering for our events and Venue Hires.
A quarter to a third of food produced globally is wasted. And yet, there are estimated to be 795 million people who do not get enough to eat. The Real Junk Food Project is working to solve both problems by repurposing surplus food destined for landfills and using it to feed the people who need it. Across their 4 x Brighton cafe locations and Bevendean hub, the initiative ‘pay as you feel’ concept encourages people to think about what that plate of food means to them and ensures that nobody goes hungry.
They offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options as finger-food, buffet, or pre-packaged meals created by their chefs and can cater for any event, big or small.
Support The Real Junk Food Project by picking up a copy of their new cookbook release: Rescue Recipes: Fighting Food Waste One Meal At a Time.
Inside you’ll find over 200 recipes for breakfast, snacks, soups, lunch, mains, salads, and desserts, alongside useful tips for storage and sustainability.
